Wildflower is Different
Wildflower is Different
We are not your average Physical Therapy clinic! At Wildflower Physical Therapy & Wellness, our main goal is to help you get to the root of your problem, offer a highly individualized treatment plan to minimize pain and maximize function, and transition you to a maintenance program to ensure your body is feeling even better than when you first came in.
Our Specialty Areas
-
Neck pain is one of the most common issues we treat at Wildflower. We see a wide range of neck issues such as acute sprains and strains, degenerative conditions, nerve impingement, overuse injuries, whiplash, and muscle pain.
-
Headaches can be debilitating. Our approach to headache treatment is very comprehensive. We do a full assessment of the head and neck as well as a thorough history in order to incorporate pain management strategies as well as lifestyle changes that can help relieve pain from headaches.
-
We understand that traditional Physical Therapy does not bridge the gap between injury and performance, but WE DO! Indianapolis is such an active city and we love working with our athletes. Our therapists have worked with runners, rock climbers, cyclists, professional dancers to name a few!
-
The shoulder is a very complex joint. Shoulder pain can come from conditions such as rotator cuff impingement or tears, frozen shoulder, arthritis, sprains and strains, tendonitis, and complex sports injuries. We conduct a thorough exam and address the entire shoulder complex as well as joints above and below in order to optimize movement and reduce pain.
-
Back pain affects most of us at some point in our lives. It is incredibly common, but not normal! If you have been struggling with back pain with no known cause, reach out to us for an assessment today and we can help guide you on your path to recovery. We treat back conditions such as disc herniations, sciatica, muscle strain, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, stenosis and more!
-
Chronic pain is pain that has lasted for months, even years. It is very stubborn and often does not respond well to typical treatment methods. Physical Therapy and dry needling interventions can be very effective in reducing pain and improving movement. The goal with chronic pain treatment is to make you the most resilient version of yourself and provide you with interventions and tools to manage your chronic pain so you can live a healthy life.
-
Our advanced dry needling techniques can help to relieve jaw tension and pain, as well as promote healthy movement patterns. Jaw pain also often comes with issues in the neck and tension headaches, all of which we address in our treatment plan.
Get Started With an Initial Evaluation
Our Initial Evaluation session is your first appointment with us where we will perform a detailed assessment of your problem area and design a tailored treatment plan based on your needs and goals. We offer both in-person and virtual evaluations.
Our Services
-
Physical Therapy
If you are seeking Physical Therapy for an injury or pain problem, you will start with an Initial Evaluation. An Initial Evaluation will be approximately 1 hour long and will include a detailed assessment of your body so we can get a good understanding of what is causing your problem. We will integrate this with your medical history and individual goals so we can deliver a high quality and effective treatment plan. Initial Evaluations and subsequent treatment sessions may include dry needling, manual therapy, cupping, stretching, and strengthening exercises. Hour long follow-up sessions are designed to incorporate pain management, but also have a large emphasis on getting you moving well through exercise, stretching and mobility work.
-
Dry Needling
Dry needling is one of the most unique services we provide here at Wildflower Physical Therapy & Wellness. We are trained in Integrative Dry Needling, which emphasizes a holistic and whole body approach to neurologic dry needling. If you have stubborn muscle and joint pain, chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia or recurring injuries, as well as acute injuries like neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, etc. then dry needling is for you! In order to get dry needling, you will book an Initial Evaluation session where we will evaluate your appropriateness for dry needling and come up with a treatment plan based on our findings and your goals.
Virtual Care Options
Not local to Indianapolis? No worries! We offer a wide array of services virtually so you can receive expert virtual care without leaving the comfort of your home.
We can diagnose and treat injuries, offer guidance for athletes training for an upcoming event, provide mobility and strengthening programs to reduce pain and increase movement, and MORE!
Discover the Magic of Dry Needling!
-
Dry needling is one of the most unique services we provide. Dry needling is a highly skilled, minimally invasive treatment that helps to reduce pain, improve blood flow and healing as well as restore proper muscle and joint range of motion.
We use the insertion of monofilament needles at very specific points in the body in order to target areas of tension, pain and chronic inflammation.
-
Dry needling will benefit you if you have stubborn muscles that won’t seem to relax, painful joints with limited range of motion, acute injuries such as muscle strains or sprains, and chronic pain conditions of all kinds.

This depends on where you are getting the needling done and if you’ve had it done in the past!
Most clients describe dry needling as being briefly uncomfortable but totally worth it for the immediate pain and tension relief.
Most of the time you do not feel the needling being tapped in, and while it is in the muscle you may feel a brief “twitch” or muscle cramp. You will be sore for 1-2 days and moving/heat will help to relieve the soreness.

Dry needling is part of most Physical Therapy plans of care. If you would like dry needling services as your treatment, schedule an “Initial Evaluation” and we can set up a pain management program to fit your needs.
